If you’ve ever seen someone in a movie whipping out a butterfly knife, you might have wondered what it was and how it works. Well, wonder no more! We’ll start off with the basics: A traditional butterfly knife consists of two pieces of metal that fold together to form a blade.
These are also called balisong knives, after the Filipino word for “butterfly.” The handle is on one side of the blade when closed, but can be moved to any side with just one hand when needed - making them easy to flip around in emergencies or when using them as improvised weapons against an attacker.
We all know how useful knives can be. You can use them for anything from cutting a thread to opening a tin of beans, and they are often lifesavers when the zombies come. That's why I think everyone should have one. However, they do require a fair amount of care and maintenance: so you have to make sure it is always on your person in case you need it. Here is a detail of cool butterfly knife tricks:
1. Spin Motion Trick:
This is somewhat similar to the tricks riders do when they are riding. But here all you need to do is to spin the blade of your butterfly knife in a circular motion and then open it. This will cause the blades to rotate rapidly. The result: your blade will be in a complete blur, which is very dangerous for anyone who happens to be standing in the way of that spinning circle of death.
2. The Blade Retains its Shape Trick:
This butterfly knife trick is really cool because it requires no extra force. Just make it a point in the middle of the blade and move from either side to remove all sharpness on that blade. Keep doing that until you have done the whole length of your knife. It will retain its shape as if you just bought it yesterday from the store. (This one might be too dangerous, but I want to give you an option anyway.)
3. The Toothpick Trick:
This trick is actually very easy to do, but highly functional. All you need to do is to bend a toothpick in a 90 degree angle then squeeze it in between the two halves of your knife. Make sure that the toothpick can hold both sides together tightly. Now, whenever you are in a jam and need a weapon, just pull out that toothpick and your blade will come apart into two separate pieces. Cool, eh?
4. The Pen Trick:
This is similar to the toothpick trick, but more efficient. You will need to have at least three pens on hand (preferably red). Just bend one of them over into something that can fit between the two halves of your butterfly knife (make sure it does not touch the main blade) then put it in there. Now, just like before, when you need to use it, just pull out one of the pens and your blade will come apart.
5. The Pull the Trigger Trick:
This is very easy too; it will require some practice though. All you need to do is keep the finger on that one trigger and then slowly move it from side to side, which means your blade will come out of its pocket. If done right it will work easily without being too hard or risky.
Perform Tricks Carefully!
Many people know that butterfly knife tricks exist, but they may not know how to use them properly. This causes a lot of people to be curious about them. But remember, just like any other weapon, butterfly knives can harm not only the person using them but also others as well. This is why it is important to know how to use them properly.
The very first thing you should remember when using it is that you should always close the butterfly knife's handle before doing anything with it. This makes sure that no one is accidentally cut by the knife. Keep in mind that even if the blade is closed, you shouldn't place it in a place where children can reach them.
After all, there are still areas that can become cut even if the blade on the closed knife isn't exposed. This also means that you shouldn't play around with your butterfly knife too much because what will result from this is either an injury or loss of property from being damaged by butterfly knives.
